what has been up

it has been a while since i have posted. so, instead of picking a singular topic, i thought i would touch on several things.

1.) i recently made my first pasta bake! i know, i know... i am no domestic goddess. however, thanks to hannah, i made a delicious dish for my girlfriends and it fed us and, later, jeff for 4 meals! it was delish, and it inspired me to try cooking more. plus, since i bought a large baking dish for the occasion, i can now make brownies!!! woop.

2.) my mouth is doing alright! currently, i cannot bite down because it is the molar's turn to hurt like hell. hopefully that will pass soon. the holes are closing up slowly but surely. my kids are upset that i do not have colors on my braces. i already did the colors... i am a little over it. :) almost one month down, 11 or so to go!!

3.) next week i will be in DC with the kiddos. again. i am glad we are taking a break after this year (we start going every other year after this one) because it is SO much work and stress. ugh. and i am not even doing most of it! it is just a lot of questions and worried parents and student issues and BLLLAAAAH. it will go well.... i just need it to be june! the middle of june at that!

4.) i have been watching "life" on discovery and MAN it is awesome. it is so funny to see how males attract females and how male birds are so pretty and females are blaaaah. and how animals show affection or how they try to impress each other. sigh. why can't humans be more like most creatures? the males do all the work in attraction. :) but i am learning a lot! i finally understand why we like it when guys fight over us...

5.) i have a new-found respect for tracy morgan. i saw him on oprah (yeah yeah i know) and all she had to ask was what he thought about tina fey and that guy started to cry. now i no longer see him as the guy who must be faking that god-awful voice of his. now i see him as the guy who cries over tina fey. sigh :)

6.) good things are coming our way, and it is long awaited for my family... ugh. my sister is going to have a baby soon, my brother is moving to sacramento, i start grad school soon, my parents will be home soon, and we should have a better season next year. we are trying to be positive, that's for sure.

7.) i am reading the book The Shack right now, and i really like it! i am not quite done with it, but i am enjoying it. if youre not freaked out by religiously inclined books, then you will enjoy it too. i just love his depiction of things we don't understand!

8.) on the topic of books... CHRISTOPER MOORE. read him. all of him. new book out now. read the first two in that series. now. do it now. now. unless you don't like swearing and crude humor at times. then forget what i just said.

and, other than all of that, nothing else is really going on! i will be procrastinating studying for the MAT this week, so i will probably post again soon. until then, more LIFE! yessss. and that wasn't a deep statement. i am talking about the show.
